cuando el dia termina en silencio
a mi almohada le cuento el dolor
que mis lagrimas llevan por dentro
como espejo reflejan mi voz
if you have made it here, you have stumbled upon the thoughts, writings, and random musings of a girl who is unsure of almost everything in life except one thing: the greatest thing you will ever learn, is just to love and be so loved in return. (and who is also known to make a spelling/word error or two)

vivir es parte de un sueño...
i love spanish music...everything about it. there are a few songs that i listen to when i'm happy/in a good mood, but most of the time i listen to it when i'm sad. there is something about the spanish language that expresses feelings in ways that the english language can only dream of....

Could you please write a description of the translation of this song too.. Not the literal translation.. but some descriptive text too.
ReplyDeleteI don't know Spanish :-(
here is the literal translation:
ReplyDeletewhen the day ends in silence
I tell my pillow of the pain
take my tears inside
as a mirror reflecting my voice
as i read it: when the days is done, I cry into my pillow - telling it of the pain.
basically the song is about dreaming and how things are possible in dreams that are not possible in real life...at least that's what I get from it. the music also adds something to it (click on the blog title to hear it).
I wish I knew spanish, I just know how to translate (or as of late, where to go to get something translated). I think, though, translating a song - especially this one - gives the song more meaning because you have to figure out some of the words that don't translate quite right; I also reflect even more on what the song is saying.
It's the same story.. be it English or Spanish... All the hearts break with the same words.
ReplyDeleteDid you use Google Language tool?
I do, but next semester I am enrolled for a Spanish course, so I am hoping soon it will be mostly my knowledge of the language.
ReplyDeleteYes, not matter what the language, hearts are still broken :/
